Breast Cancer Support Group Offered at Randolph Cancer Center

ASHEBORO – A breast cancer diagnosis affects more than the patient, it impacts their entire family. Breast cancer patients have described being in a haze when they first receive news and once that has passed, they have many emotions and questions they need validated and answered. If you have ever been touched by a breast cancer diagnosis, Randolph Cancer Center is pleased to be able to provide a new support group specifically for breast cancer patients and their spouses.

Randolph Cancer Center will offer the Breast Cancer Support Group on Tuesday, November 15 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Randolph Cancer Center located at 373 N. Fayetteville Street in Asheboro. Breast cancer patients and survivors are welcome to bring their spouses for a time to talk about their disease and gain support from others.

Sherry Tate, Breast Navigator at Randolph Cancer Center, will lead the meeting starting by separating the men and women into separate groups. Faye Morgan, a breast cancer survivor, will speak with the women and her husband will lead a discussion among the men’s group. Once discussions have concluded, the couples come back together for refreshments. The support group hopes to provide time for patients and spouses to reflect and discuss difficult issues in a safe environment.

If you or someone you know is interested in attending the Breast Cancer Support Group, please call the Community Events Desk at 336.633.7788 or log on to www.randolphhospital.org and click on the Events Tab to register.
