Time it right. Exercise when it's coolest outside—early morning or late evening. It's often hottest between noon and 3 p.m. 2. Stay hydrated. Drink water before, during and after exercise. 3. Take it easy. Shorten your workouts or scale back their intensity and take frequent, shady breaks. Remember: If the heat gets to be too much outdoors, you can always move your workout inside.
